An online bachelor's in computer information systems is a bachelor's degree with a special focus on technology and computer systems that can be earned through online education. It is a type of information technology degree that focuses on the systems used within computers to store, analyze and react to information.
You can expect to learn basic coding languages like Java, C# and Python and several other skills. Our computer information systems bachelor's degree program specifically focuses on developing skills such as complex problem-solving, information systems security planning, information ordering, logic and design, and computer interaction.
A computer information systems degree can help you build upon your existing technology skills and introduce you to additional ones that you may find useful as you progress through your career. Because working with information systems requires such a broad range of skills, there are many different career paths that this degree could help you prepare to pursue. Here are some of the careers graduates of our Computer Information Systems degree program might consider after graduation:
1Students may begin the program in “Undeclared” status; however, they must select a specialization by the time they have earned 60 semester credit hours.
2As part of this program, one complimentary laptop is provided to students enrolled in the Associate in Cybersecurity and Networking, Associate in Information Technology and Networking, Associate in Engineering Technology, Bachelor’s of Information Technology and Networking, Bachelor’s of Software Development, Bachelor’s of Engineering Technology, Bachelor’s of Cybersecurity and Networking and Bachelor’s of Computer Information Systems. The laptop is issued during the student’s second session. Certain restrictions apply.
