Opportunities for High School Students

DeVry University’s Advantage Academy helps qualified Chicago Public School students take college courses—and earn an Associate Degree in Information Technology and Networking with a Specialization in Network Systems Administration or an Associate Degree in Business Administration—while earning a high school diploma at the same time.

Our Associate in Information Technology and Networking with a Specialization in Network Systems Administration will help you learn how to identify vulnerabilities in networks, software and devices and protect them from a cyberattack and much more. Advantage Academy Program Benefits

Dual Enrollment

Take both college and high school courses throughout your junior and senior year, and you’ll earn an Associate Degree in high school. Your school day will consist of high school classes in the morning and college classes in the afternoon—both at the DeVry Campus.

Accelerated Education

Get a head start on your college education. In addition to your diploma, you can graduate high school with an Associate Degree in Information Technology and Networking with a Specialization in Network Systems Administration or Associate Degree in Business Administration.

No Tuition

Experience eligible college-level courses at no cost. Tuition, books and technology charges for all eligible courses are paid for by the participating high school district and DeVry.

Continuous Learning

Once you earn an Associate Degree through Advantage Academy, you can continue your education by applying qualifying transfer credits toward a Bachelor’s Degree program.1

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to apply for Advantage Academy, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a Chicago Public School High School student who has successfully completed required 9th and 10th grade courses

  • Have a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher, have a good attendance rate and meet placement requirements

How to Apply

If you meet the eligibility requirements, you'll need to complete the following steps:

  • Sign up and attend an information session with a parent or guardian

  • Complete the Advantage Academy application

  • Meet enrollment standards of DeVry’s admissions test

  • Submit completed recommendation form
