Tuition Assistance for Active Duty Military Members

FUNDING TO HELP WITH YOUR EDUCATION.

If you are currently serving in a branch of the U.S. military, your college degree is within reach. Military Tuition Assistance (TA) at DeVry University is an important quality-of-life program we offer that provides tuition and fees for courses taken by active duty personnel, including:

 

As an eligible service member who qualifies for Military Tuition Assistance, you may qualify for the following benefits:

 

  • 100% Tuition (Undergraduate)

  • 75% Tuition (Graduate)

 

Not to Exceed (Undergraduate and Graduate):

 

  • $250 per Semester Credit Hour 

  • $4500 per Fiscal Year (October 1 – September 30)

Montgomery GI Bill® – Selected Reserve

The MGIB-SR program may be available to you if you are a member of the Selected Reserve. The Selected Reserve includes the Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve and Coast Guard Reserve, and the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard.

The MGIB-SR pays up to 36 months of benefits for degree programs, certificate or correspondence courses, cooperative training, independent study programs, apprenticeship/on-the-job training, and vocational flight training programs.

Air Force and Space Force

If you are enrolled at DeVry or Keller, you can apply for military tuition assistance through the Air Force Education Center. Follow these six easy steps to complete your military TA voucher:

  • Select reason for request

  • Select the school name (DeVry University)

  • Enter term dates

  • Enter the course information

  • Enter the registration fees

  • Verify TA information and submit request

If this is your first time setting up tuition assistance, or if you have relocated to a new base, you may need additional documents to complete the military TA process. Please contact your direct Supervisor or your base education office for more information. Additional information can be found on the Air Force Reserve website or the Air Force Education Services Programs website.

How to Order Transcripts

If you have CCAF credits you'd like to apply toward your degree, you'll need to secure an official transcript. Visit the CCAF website for instructions on how to do this. By transferring qualified coursework including your Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) credits, you may earn up to 92 credits towards your bachelor's degree. Get your education rolling and earn your bachelor's degree or master's degree. 

Air National Guard

Please visit the Air National Guard website to review your federal entitlements. Furthermore, you may also be eligible to receive additional state education entitlements if you reside within a participating state. If you have additional questions, please contact your local ANG education office.

By transferring qualifying Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) credits, you may earn up to 92 credits towards your bachelor's degree. And, as an active duty member, you and your spouse may qualify for DeVry's special military tuition rates.

The Air National Guard provides access to all DANTES credit-by-examination programs, Community College of the Air Force Associate Degree programs, federal tuition assistance and state education benefits. Please visit DANTES for more information on qualification guidelines.

Students taking more than one course can submit one TA form if all their courses have the same start date.

Army, Army Reserve and National Guard

DeVry University students in the U.S. Army can use the automated portal of the Army Continuing Education System (ACES) for streamlined course enrollment. Follow these simple steps to get started:

  1. Register at ArmyIgnitED.com to request Military Tuition Assistance. Select your homeschool as "DeVry U/Keller Phoenix, AZ" and use the search tool to select the degree program that matches your chosen career path.

  2. Collect the required admissions documents needed to register for courses. (High School diploma, LES, COE, College transcripts, certificates, JST, etc.)

  3. Whether you take courses online or in hybrid format, our faculty will be there to support you.

  4. For convenience you can complete your admissions application online and an advisor will contact you to complete the enrollment process.

Important note: To ensure your Military TA voucher is accurate, you must obtain correct course information from your military admissions advisor. For more information about the automated TA process, visit ArmyIgnitED.com. To learn more about your Tuition Assistance "Top-Up" benefits, visit the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs website. Once you have completed your ACES enrollment, please contact your advisor for further instructions.

Tips when Applying for Military TA

How to Send a Completed Military TA Voucher

DeVry University Online Students: Email your completed TA voucher to your advisor prior to your course start date or fax it to Military Finance at 630-572-1172 after your course has started.

Marines and Marine Corps Reserve

First-time students must complete a TA Orientation Class PRIOR to using TA.

Marines at remote sites (non-Marine Corps installations) may access the course by visiting usmc-mccs.org. All others: Please proceed to your local base Lifelong Learning or Education Office.

Marines must apply for and receive written authorization for TA through the appropriate education office prior to enrollment.

TA for remote Marines and those assigned to other service sites is processed at Camp Lejeune for those east of the Mississippi, and Camp Pendleton for those west of the Mississippi. I-I duty Marines apply through MARFORRES, New Orleans. Recruiters apply via their recruiting district or region headquarters.

Once a Marine is enrolled with TA, he or she must submit a degree plan before exceeding 12 semester hours.
