Online Dual Enrollment | Decatur and DeKalb Counties

Our Georgia Advantage Academy program offers qualifying 11th and 12th grade students from both the Decatur and DeKalb school districts the opportunity to earn an Undergraduate Certificate in Programming Essentials while completing their high school diploma. This two-year undergraduate certificate program is completed virtually, with 100% of their courses taken online. To ensure students have the support they need, they will have access to their high school success center to attend live lectures and complete coursework. To round out the college experience, learners in this program will be assigned a Student Support Advisor and will have access to DeVry University resources, including the e-library and 24/7 tutoring.

Dual Enrollment

Take both college and high school courses throughout your junior and senior year, and you’ll earn an undergraduate certificate while in high school. 

Accelerated Education

Get a head start on your college education. In addition to your diploma, you can graduate high school with an Undergraduate Certificate in Programming Essentials.

No Out-of-Pocket Costs

Students will utilize the Georgia dual enrollment funding to cover the cost of tuition, books and any additional fees and should work with their high school counselor to complete the application process. This program is no cost to the student or their family.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to apply for Advantage Academy, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a Decatur or DeKalb School District High School student who has successfully completed required 9th and 10th grade courses

  • Have a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher, have a good attendance rate and meet placement requirements

How to Apply

If you meet the eligibility requirements, you'll need to complete the following steps:

  • Sign up and attend an information session with a parent or guardian

  • Complete the Advantage Academy application

  • Meet enrollment standards of DeVry’s admissions test

  • Submit completed recommendation form
