Brent Ward, Ph.D. is a Senior Professor at DeVry University, where he teaches courses in advanced project management, project risk management, accounting, budgeting and forecasting, business planning, and leadership. He is an adviser to the DeVry Orlando Mu Phi chapter of Delta Mu Delta (DMD). With his mentorship, the chapter achieved the, “Star Chapter Award,” from DMD in 2016. Ward mentors student leaders and also led the development of a campus internship program.

Ward joined DeVry in 1994 as a business and math instructor and has held various positions since becoming a senior professor, including curriculum manager, program architect and course developer for the university’s Business Information Systems and Project Management programs. Additionally, Ward is the president and founder of the Community Improvement Initiative (CII), a non-profit organization dedicated to community events, beautifying South Orlando and promoting the arts. In 2017, Orange County Florida Mayor Teresa Jacobs awarded CII the, “Up and Coming Community Organization Award,” for their work in beautifying public assets in Orange County since CII’s inception in fall 2015.

Previously, Ward was the business development chair for Gateway Orlando Partnership where he worked with local elected officials and led a committee to revitalize Orlando’s South Semoran corridor. He was recognized for his efforts and awarded, “Volunteer of the Year,” by the City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.  Ward was also a continuing education instructor at Conestoga College and held management roles at Flexible Packaging Corporation and Charles Ward Insurance Brokers in Canada.

Ward earned a Ph.D. in business administration and a post-graduate certificate in education from Northcentral University in California. He is a candidate for a master’s of accounting and financial management from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management, where he earned a master’s degree in project management and information systems management. Ward holds an MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business, and earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Western Ontario, both located in London, Canada. Ward is also a Microsoft certified solutions developer.
